1. Introduction and Definitions

Boundless Friends Corp., a Delaware corporation (d/b/a ScreenVox) ("ScreenVox" or "we"), provides the ScreenVox service, allowing users to convert screenplays into immersive audio experiences using AI-powered voice generation and narration. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights users have regarding their data. Definitions include "User," "Personal Data," "Non-Personal Data," "Data Storage," "Third Parties," and "Screenplay Content" (scripts and documents uploaded through ScreenVox services).

2. Information Collection

ScreenVox collects the following data from users: personal identifiers (e.g., name, email address), screenplay content uploaded for processing, and usage analytics. Financial information such as credit card details is handled by Stripe, not by ScreenVox.

Screenplay content uploaded to our platform is processed using AI services including OpenAI and ElevenLabs for text analysis and voice generation. Generated audio files and processing metadata are stored for user access and can be deleted by users at any time. Account data is collected during registration, while screenplay content is processed securely and retained only as long as needed for service delivery.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the EU/EEA, we process personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Performance of a Contract: We process your data to provide our services when you sign up and use ScreenVox (name, email, screenplay content for processing).
  • Legitimate Interests: We process data to improve our platform, ensure security, and maintain our service (usage analytics, security monitoring).
  • Consent: For marketing communications to European users, we will only send them with your explicit consent, and you can opt-out at any time.
  • Legal Obligation: We may process data when required by law (e.g., responding to valid legal requests).

Where we rely on consent, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

4. Data Usage

ScreenVox uses collected data to operate, maintain, and improve the ScreenVox service. Personal data may also be used for essential service communications about outages, upgrades, or future product releases. Marketing communications regarding ScreenVox services or products may also occur, though ScreenVox will not sell or intentionally share personal data with third parties for external marketing.

ScreenVox may analyze screenplay processing data and user feedback for debugging or other service improvements. All data collected in the use of the product is fully manageable by the user and may be deleted at their discretion.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

User data is shared only with essential third-party providers, such as OpenAI for text processing, ElevenLabs for voice generation, Heroku for server and database management, Supabase for authentication, and Stripe for payment processing. We limit third-party access to necessary data only, ensuring their compliance with strong data privacy standards.

If additional essential third-party providers are added, ScreenVox will update this policy and inform users. No data will be shared for advertising purposes.

5. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit, and servers are secured against unauthorized access. ScreenVox implements industry-standard security measures to protect user data. Users are responsible for securing their own devices and credentials. ScreenVox will promptly notify users of any data breach affecting their data.

Passwords and authentication tokens are managed by Supabase, while API keys are stored securely on Heroku servers. ScreenVox operates entirely online and does not use physical servers for data storage or transfer.

6. User Rights

Users may access, correct, and delete their personal information and screenplay content at any time through the account page. Data is retained as long as users keep it or until deletion. Deleted data is permanently removed with no backups.

ScreenVox provides data export services allowing users to download their processed content and generated audio files.

Additional Rights for EU/EEA Users: If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR, including:

  • Right to Access: You can request information about what personal data we process about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You can request that we limit how we process your data.
  • Right to Data Portability: You can request your data in a portable format to transfer to another service.
  • Right to Object: You can object to processing of your personal data, especially for marketing purposes.
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint: You can file a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.

7. Cookies and Tracking

ScreenVox uses minimal cookies and tracking technologies necessary for service functionality. Third parties like Cloudflare, Supabase, and Heroku may track site access for security and essential service provision only.

Essential Cookies: We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication, security, and core service functionality. These do not require consent under EU ePrivacy laws.

Analytics: Any usage analytics we collect are anonymized and used solely to improve service performance. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

EU Users: European users can use our service without non-essential cookies being set. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will implement appropriate consent mechanisms for EU visitors.

8. Data Retention

Data is retained as long as needed to support user services or until the user deletes it. Once deleted, data cannot be restored. Data retention practices may change to comply with new jurisdictional requirements.

9. International Data Transfers

If you are located in the EU or other regions with data protection laws, be aware that your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. The U.S. may not have the same level of data protection as your home country. By using ScreenVox, you consent to this transfer.

ScreenVox's third-party providers (e.g., OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Heroku, Supabase) may transfer data across borders as needed for service functionality. We take appropriate measures to protect your data during these transfers, such as using encryption and relying on the necessity of the transfer for providing our service to you.

For EU users, we rely on your informed consent or the necessity of the transfer for service performance as the legal basis for international transfers under GDPR Article 49.

10. Children's Privacy and Parental Control

ScreenVox is committed to protecting the privacy of children and complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). ScreenVox services are designed for general audiences and do not specifically target children under 13.

ScreenVox does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information directly from children under the age of 13 without parental consent. Parents or guardians who wish to use ScreenVox services should create and manage accounts themselves, ensuring appropriate supervision of any content processed through the platform.

If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided ScreenVox with personal information without parental consent, they should contact us immediately at [email protected]. ScreenVox will promptly delete such information from its systems.

Parents are encouraged to monitor their children's access to online services. ScreenVox relies on parental oversight to ensure appropriate use of our screenplay-to-audio conversion platform.
